Just a little note about Thursaday night - first of all we had a great time! I personally found it to be very interesting and a lot of fun. I thought the profile cupping was cool. The side by side coffee maker comparison was a real eye opener (I was at my friends house tonight and put on several brews with the Techno. I thought they came up great, and I'm tempted to see if Thea will agree to owning one).

You managed to get a lot of hands on content across in a relatively short time frame, which was always important when we were running short programs down under - well done. We used to collect a few coffee 'factoids' and would ask our audience questions, and/or make a game out of it for a small prize/signature drink at the end. It would keep the audience engaged and kept conversation going.

I liked the use of the visual aids, ie. difference in green coffee, smelling and looking at the roast as it progressed. Using these aids in a structured way can really contribute to the educational side, as well as keep the audience entertained. Maybe you could have something up on the computer to assist your presentation ie. pictures of harvesting, different processing methods, regions etc...

I think you could easily sell another evening based on espresso. While some wanted to see the espresso side, we had enough on our plate with the program as it was. It really needs its own evening as I'm sure you would agree.

Overall, I think your devotion to the industry came across in a positive/classy manner, and Andrew adds a friendly humour that seemed well received.

Thanks again - we can't wait until the next one!

Cheers,

Chad

I wanted to drop you a line and say "thanks" for the great coffee (and brewer too!).

For Father's Day, my wife picked up a pound of Smith Farms Kona Peaberry from Transcend.

She tells me that when she went to get it there was none roasted and you all suggested that it would be ready by the Saturday before Father's Day. My wife replied that she could not come in on Saturday because I would be with her all day (the coffee was a surprise). So you fellows went the "extra mile" and produced a pound for her as quickly as possible.

I'm brewing the Kona with my Technivorm (also purchased from Transcend) and it is amazing coffee. It is a "soft" coffee with low acidity and wonderful fruit elements. I would recommend to anyone who likes a coffee that has lots of flavor across the pallet and does not overpower the taster with a "punch".

Thanks again for the great coffee.

Gary Sears

Hi there. Just wanted to let you know I have received my "vurm" and have just ordered another as a christmas gift. When I unpacked my coffee maker approx. 2 months ago, I didn't fold up the box for recycling, but left it in the basement. So, I found the package of your coffee last week ( after 2 months ) and brewed it. It was 'luscious. Hence, why I have just ordered 3 (expensive with shipping !) pounds of it. Just thought you should know. thanks. Lori

I am so glad that I am now able to order online. After Dave Feltham, my son, introduced us to your coffee while we were visiting Edmonton, we have had trouble purchasing something even remotely as good as yours here. hurray!!!!!

Hi Poul,

My Moccamaster arrived just now, and I just wanted to send you a quick note of appreciation - for the quick service, and for the bag of coffee that you included with the box -Thank you! How did you know that African coffee blends are my absolute favourite? That is excellent! Can't wait to go home and set up my machine and try it. In fact, I might have to treat my co-workers to a cuppa... :)

Kind regards,
Lisbeth

Every now and then you just plain get lucky.

While cruising the net the other day I came upon an article on the Technivorm Mochamaster, more or less describing it as "THE" drip coffee maker. After a bit more searching and review reading (thank you CoffeeGeek) it become pretty obvious that the writer of the original article wasn't some shill paid off by Technivorm, he was actually on to something.

Then came the pleasant news (and next bit of luck) that Transcend Coffee right here in Edmonton was the Canadian source for the Mochamaster. As I'm an espresso lover but daily drip coffee drinker I'm sure you can understand my wish and search for a drip coffee maker that would give me the full taste of the bean without the addition of a bunch of unwanted flavours or the subtraction of a bunch of flavours that I really enjoy.

After a purchase of a Technivorm KBT 741 I've finally found what I've been looking for. It's a great thing to get what you pay for and that is exactly what I've got with the Technivorm. It may be a bit more expensive then other drip coffee makers but what comes with the extra outlay of cash (and the addition of a Swissgold filter) is a great looking machine that makes the best drip coffee that I've ever had.

So thanks Poul to you folks at Transcend for not only carrying the Technivorm but for running an outstanding coffee experience.

And no surprise, you guys really do make the best Latte in Edmonton !!!

Mark
