Finca Santa Teresa Lot 87
Transcend is proud to offer a great new coffee out of Panama from the 2008 crop. This small micro lot of Catuai was carefully grown and produced by Juan Pablo Berard. The coffee is grown in the mountains of Candela, Santa Clara, and Renacimiento at elevations of over 1500 meters above sea level. Poul Mark, owner of Transcend Coffee, personally cupped and selected this coffee at the farm in April 2008.
We have roasted this coffee to a roast of City +, which is a medium roast. This roast profile allows the coffee to speak to the drinker highlighting its natural fruit and floral notes.
The Finca Santa Teresa was purchased by Juan Pablo Berard and his wife Ariadne de Berard in 1990. The farm is located by the border of the International Park La Amistad, in Santa Clara, Ranacimiento, Chiriqui.
The farm consists of approximately 40 hectares of coffee plantation, where the Berard Estate grows Caturra, Catuai and Typica, along with about 30 heactares of well preserved forest. Finca Santa Teresa has been among the first ten places in national competitions for seven years in a row.
